Through Faculty Development, Dalhousie Family Medicine supports our faculty in their roles as teachers, leaders, professionals and scholars.
New teachers are encouraged to explore the Fundamentals of Faculty Development. These resources and courses will guide you in the day-to-day aspects of clinical teaching, from setting up your practice to providing feedback and completing the relevant assessment forms.
As your teaching experience grows, explore other Faculty Development offerings to continue to expand your skills.
Faculty Development Coordinators at each of our sites are here to support you in your learning experience. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance!
Faculty Development focuses on enhancing the knowledge, skills, and behaviors related to teaching, leadership, scholarship, and professionalism. At Dalhousie Family Medicine, the Strategic Plan and the CFPC’s Fundamental Teaching Activities Framework is employed to guide the development of programs that support our clinical teachers in these areas.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) is geared towards maintaining and advancing the knowledge and skills central to the medical expert role, ensuring that physicians remain current with the latest developments in medical practice. For CME opportunities, please visit the Faculty of Medicine CPDME website.
Both CME and Faculty Development are integral components of lifelong learning and Continuing Professional Development.
Dalhousie Family Medicine also offers virtual Grand Rounds under the leadership of Dr. Lynn Bussey. These Grand Rounds cover topics relevant to both CME and Faculty Development.
